What Does this urine Test Result Mean?

My urinalysis yielded the ff: epithelial cells - moderate mucus threads - moderate bacteria - few amorphous urates - few pus cells - 3-5/hpf rbc - 2-5/hpf the recommendation was to consult a doctor because of the pus cells, rbc, and mucus threads. are my results a cause for alarm? thanks!

i understand your concern

The urinal tract of any human being is basically filled with mucus that might appear as secretions, crystals or threads. The mucus threads in urine appear as small ribbons that are not visible to eyes. If the amounts increases then this means there is some underlying infection in any part of the urinary tract.

The presence of pus cells and bacteria in the urine sample confirm the presence of a urinary tract infection

i recommend that you consult your doctor soon for the accurate diagnosis of UTI as well as treatment of the same.

Take Care
